Located in the historic South Bend Tribune Press Building, South Bend City Church’s renovation project is a powerful example of adaptive reuse in downtown South Bend. Pemberton Davis joined the design and construction team early in 2021 to assist with budgeting and planning, with construction launching in 2023 following a successful fundraising effort.

Phase one transformed the industrial space into a warm, open Lobby, Lounge, and Sanctuary—featuring Edison string lighting and high-bay UFO fixtures. We reworked the building’s original power distribution system for modern commercial use and installed a full Potter fire alarm system. Phase two added classrooms, gathering areas, and a children's play space. As the church continues to grow, we look forward to being a trusted partner in future phases.
